It was built in Art Nouveau style, opened as the Palace Hotel in 1905 and renamed Grandhotel Praha in 1919. In the early 20th century, Tatranská Lomnica was developing as a healing-recreational centre where European aristocracy was supposed to meet. A spa facility was built there along with luxurious hotels.
